Revolutionizing Joint Surgery: Introducing a pioneering journal on surgical technique videos.

Every good idea arises from unanswered needs, which in turn, require a group of people to shape and act upon them. In this era of information, where Artificial Intelligence and access to educational resources are more accessible than ever, it becomes challenging to contribute a new horizon and a new vision of orthopedic education. Today, we are delighted to announce the launch of an innovative initiative that promises to elevate the dissemination of knowledge in the field of surgical techniques in joint surgery: VideoACCART. This endeavor marks a paradigm shift in how joint surgeons interact with the latest research and advancements.

As the curtain rises on this novel enterprise, it becomes evident that VideoACCART is not just a platform; it is a testament to the changing nature of medical communication. Unlike traditional printed publications or other medical video platforms, this journal harnesses the power of visual media to enhance the learning experience, exposing advanced or traditional surgical techniques.

There are two distinctive elements in its format: Native Spanish/Portuguese language and peer review. Joint surgery is inherently visual; therefore, videos have been a fundamental part of teaching. However, many of them depict realities different from ours with the language barrier present. VideoACCART will be a publication in Spanish/Portuguese language for Latin Americans. However, having an English version is mandatory to universalize this knowledge and offer the opportunity to be viewed anywhere in the world. The other differential aspect is peer review. This ensures the validity and reliability of the information presented, not only in its content but also in its form. This makes it completely different from other online access platforms, where the quality of the content has not undergone any selection filter. Peer review means that experts in different areas review and evaluate the videos before publication, and there is a strict editorial committee in the selection of works. This guarantees that the contents are accurate, up-to-date, and supported by the scientific community. Peer-reviewed videos provide an additional level of confidence to those seeking to learn and improve their surgical skills.

What sets this journal apart is its commitment to inclusion. Recognizing the diversity of learning preferences among professionals, the journal integrates a variety of multimedia elements to cater to different comprehension styles. From arthroscopic surgical techniques captured in high-definition video to open surgeries performed by experts, VideoACCART ensures that knowledge is not only transmitted in a strict quality format but experienced. There will be interaction with the authors of the published works, ensuring education beyond the publication itself, which will facilitate the replication of these techniques anywhere in Latin America.

In conclusion, the launch of VideoACCART represents a milestone in the evolution of medical education. This endeavor, born in the heart of ACCART, is poised to redefine how orthopedic knowledge is disseminated and consumed. Embracing this era of innovation, we invite orthopedic professionals from across Latin America to join us on this transformative journey and collectively propel the field of orthopedics into a new era of excellence.

Postscript: Remaining true to the innovative character of this journal, this editorial was written in collaboration with Chat GPT (artificial intelligence).
